v1.0.02026-10-06
The 1.0 release: online matches now run on the server, and the game has its
first progression beyond maxed stats.
Online
- Matches are simulated on the server - ball, bots, rules and score - so nobody has a host's zero-ping edge and a match survives a player leaving (a bot takes their seat).
- The server moved to Ohio, Render's most central US region: everyone in the US is within about 50 ms.
- Snapshots and body state travel as compact binary frames at 60 a second; stale frames are dropped rather than queued.
- The ping readout is measured by the server and shown at all times - in the menu bar ("34 ms · Ohio") and in the game.
- Skipping a replay is a room vote: the match holds until everyone is done, and play resumes for all at once. Points with no rally (a serve fault) skip the replay.
- The opponent's serve toss is visible online.
- Whoever serves is placed straight on their serving spot.
Gameplay
- Prestige: max every stat, start the climb again, and every stat's effect is permanently 1% stronger per prestige level. Takeovers stay unlocked. A gold P-badge shows your level everywhere your name does.
- Leaderboard in the menu: the top players by prestige, then overall rating.
- Rebindable controls (keys or mouse buttons), with a left- or right-handed setting.
- A mouse-look camera: the cursor locks to the centre and the mouse turns the view.
- The dive is a third of its old distance; a dive dig counts as a touch.
Accounts and community
- Invite links: a friend who signs up through yours earns you both 250 coins.
- Usernames on accounts; progress follows you to any browser.
- Join Discord button on the menu.
Owner
- Admin page: live stats fixed, invite counts, a per-day line graph with a stat picker, sortable table with definitions, every player's coin balance, and gifting coins.
- Data export/import for moves and backups.
- Google AdSense: two units in the lobby only, never over a match.

git history for the detail.
